"The Clearing" is an original deer painting that has been hand-painted in acrylic paint on a beautiful piece of ancient reclaimed wood. The wood itself is yew and it is very old. It has some lovely distinct markings which almost look like fire in the background adding to piece's uniqueness and character. My inspiration for this woodland scene came from my meanders up the woods behind my home and also the wood itself. I wanted to paint something that not only celebrated wildlife but also the beauty of the wood! This painting is a real statement piece. It would look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would particularly complement a country or rustic syle of decor. It would also make a lovely, special wildlife gift for a nature-loving friend or family member.
