Meet "Basil" the Badger
 
This badger painting on live edge wood is one of my original woodland animal paintings on wood that's not only been hand painted on wood but also handmade in Cornwall. The wood itself is English Oak; it has some absolutely stunning burr and also the bark in-tact, giving the piece an authentic woodland feel. The wood,  as always, has been sanded and prepared in order to maintain as much of the original character of the sustainable wood as possible.

I paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to create all different types of reclaimed wood art decor. I work primarily with reclaimed wood (or otherwsie sustainable wood) and I love to celebrate the beauty of the wood I work with and to enhance its natural markings and character.
 
This one-of-a-kind sustainable wood painting and has been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
