This beautiful kingfisher painting has been lovingly hand-painted on a piece of reclaimed wood which used to form part of Bournemouth's sea defence.  As its spent so much time in the elements, it has some lovely character and the wood has been carefully sanded so as to retain this character and to give the piece both a rustic and authenic feel.  
 
This original kingfisher painting on reclaimed wood measures 20.2cm (w) x 10.4cm (h) x 1.7cm (d). It comes complete with a saw-tooth picture hanger ready to hang on your wall. Kimberley would look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would make a lovely, unique gift for a bird/nature-loving friend or family member.
 
I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of bird art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time
