This Peacock Butterfly Painting is one of my original wildlife paintings. This particular Butterfly has been hand-painted in acrylic paint on a chunky piece of reclaimed wood which was once part of a fence/sea defence at a Hampshire Beach. The wood is very characterful, with some beautiful markings on it and has been sanded so as to retain its character and rustic style.

This original butterfly painting measures 19cm (w) x 19.3cm (h) x 4.5cm (d). It comes complete with a saw-tooth picture hanger ready to hang on your wall. This peacock butterfly would look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would make a lovely, unique gift for a butterfly/nature-loving friend or family member.

I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of butterfly art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
