This beautiful Comma Butterfly painting is one of my original wildlife paintings. This original piece of butterfly art has been hand-painted in acrylic paint in a botanical style on a chunky piece of Cornish Driftwood which has it has been sanded so as to retain its character and retain a rustic style.This is an original, one-off piece of British butterfly artwork and leans towards a simple botanical/vintage style of art. It's on a chunky piece of wood so can stand alone on a sideboard of shelf. This butterfly painting woul look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would make a lovely, unique gift for a butterfly/nature-loving friend or family member.I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of butterfly art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
