This British Wildlife Painting on Reclaimed Wood, entitled "Woodland Friends" is a collaboration of some of my favourite woodland creatures. It includes a greater spotted woodpecker, nuthatch and a cheeky red squirrel, all of which have been hand-painted by me in acrylic paint.
 
This unique and one-off British Wildlife Painting on Reclaimed Wood has been painted on a stunning piece of yew which still has beautiful markings and grain making the piece of art extremely unique. I have used the grain of the wood as a natural canvas for the animals to perch upon and have painted them as if they're hanging out together

I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of woodland wildlife art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
