This lobster painting on Cornish driftwood is a piece of my original coastal art on wood. Inspired by Devon and Cornwall's fishing heritage, this original piece of artwork celebrates the character of weathered timber shaped by the sea. I found this piece of timber of a beach local to me in Cornwall. Once likely part of a boat that was either disregarded or damaged at sea; this beautiful and weathered piece of driftwood has a story to tell. The green paint in the background of the lobster was part of the original paintwork and gives the painting a real rustic and coastal feel.
This piece of wood artwork for walls comes complete with a saw-tooth picture hanger ready to hang in its perfect location. This piece has plenty of character and would look beautiful in any room or would make a lovely, unique gift for wood lovers or a present for coastal wildlife lovers.
I paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to create all different types of reclaimed wood art decor. I work primarily with driftwood and reclaimed wood and I love to celebrate the beauty of the wood I work with and to enhance its natural markings and character.
This one-of-a-kind driftwood painting and has been coated in a flat matt varnish for added protection, it should therefore stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
