This unique kingfisher painting on English oak is one of my original wildlife paintings on wood that's not only been hand painted on wood but also handmade in Cornwall. The wood itself is English Oak; it has some absolutely stunning burr and also the bark in-tact, giving the piece an authentic woodland feel. The wood, as always, has been sanded and prepared in order to maintain as much of the original character of the sustainable wood as possible.
 
Taking my inspiration for this kingfisher painting on English oak from both the burr of the wood itself, as well as local wildlife, the bright and vibrant colours of the kingfisher stand out beautifully against the English Oak. The live edge gives the piece of nature artwork a true rustic feel, bringing the outside in.
