"New Horizons" is my latest original deer painting on reclaimed wood. This piece of wildife artIt has been lovingly hand-painted by me in acrylic paint on a stunning piece of (what I believe to be) reclaimed elm. The markings and spalting on the wood give the impression of a natural landscape behind the two deer making it a truely original piece of artwork.  I have painted the two deer on this unique piece of reclaimed wood so as to celebrate the beauty of the natural wood and the wildlife itself.

I paint British wildlife on wood rather than canvas as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated for years to come. This is a one-off piece of British wildlife art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
