This  original woodland animal painting on English oak is a collaboration of some of my favourite woodland animals. It includes a squirrel, hedgehog, mouse, robin and a little (never- to-be-underestimated) wren. 
 
This unique and one-off piece of woodland wildlife art has been painted in acrylic paint on a stunning piece of Pippin Oak which still has a live-edge giving it an authentic woodland feel. The oak has some beautiful character and markings on it too, known as cats paws which I have used as a natural canvas for the woodland animals. 
 
This piece of woodland animal art on English oak would look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would complement any syle of decor. It would also make a lovely, special wildlife gift for a wildlife-loving friend or family member.  As with much of my art on wood, its all about bringing the outside-in and this British woodland painting is no exception.
 
I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of woodland art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time
