This British Garden Birds painting on yew, entitled "Hanging Out" is a collaboration of some of my favourite British garden birds. It includes a greater spotted woodpecker, blue tit, great tit, nuthatch, robin, blackbird and little wren, all of which have been hand-painted by me in acrylic paint.
 
This unique and one-off British garden birds painting on yew has been painted on a stunning piece of yew which still has beautiful markings and grain making the piece of art extremely unique. I have used the grain of the wood as a natural canvas for the birds to perch upon and have painted them as if they're having a natter together.  
 
This British garden birds painting on yew would look beautiful in a kitchen, lounge, bedroom, hallway or conservatory and would complement any style of decor. It would also make a lovely, special wildlife gift for a bird-loving friend or family member.  As with much of my art on wood, its all about bringing the outside-in and this piece of garden bird art is no exception. 
 
I only paint wildlife on wood as I love using wood as a natural and sustainable background to my artwork. Much of the wood that I work with is reclaimed and therefore has some beautiful markings and character that deserve to be preserved and celebrated. This is a one-off piece of bird art and having been coated in a flat matt varnish for protection, it should stand the test of time and can be treasured for a life-time.
